Beauty

Animal rights activists are well aware how poorly some animals are treated by large companies that want to test out products before labeling them safe for humans. Countless innocent animals have been injured and subjected to horrible conditions just so brands can have some easy test subjects. However, with the rise in cruelty-free brands, it is becoming much easier for animal lovers (both hardcore and casual! ) to purchase high quality products from brands that don't abuse animals. It's a small step we can all take to support our furry friends! New to cruelty-free brands? Check out our list of favorites below!

#1: Lush

Lush is a huge favorite among many of us for bath and shower products, so it's great that they are among the ranks of the cruelty-free! The company has a specific policy that states it will not purchase any ingredients that come from companies that test on animals. Of course, none of their products are tested on animals either, making them a great choice for those of us who want to be animal friendly. Not really a bath person? Give Lush's best-selling Bon Bomb a chance-it will change your mind! It's lime and mango scented for a nice refreshing and relaxing bath.

#2: The body Shop

Although the body shop didn't start out animal-friendly, they can now call themselves cruelty-free. None of their products are tested on animals, and popular products that were once derived (painfully) from animals such as deer are no longer formulated that way. If you're looking for something to try, check out their line of body butters which includes Coconut Body Butter, Olive Body Butter, and Shea Body Butter (extra hydrating and they smell great too)!

#3: Aubrey Organics

Unless you're into healthier skincare options, you may not be familiar with Aubrey Organics. Though lesser known, they are a wonderful brand to consider when looking for cruelty-free products. In addition to being cruelty-free, Aubrey products are completely natural so they're safer and healthier for your skin. Check out their Natural Sun (unscented) SPF 30 daily sunscreen for a safe alternative to typical sun protectants.

#4: Pacifica

Pacifica has a wide range of products in a variety of delicious scents. The company prides itself on being cruelty-free, 100 percent vegan, and gluten-free. No animal testing, and no animal components in any of their products. If you're a big traveler, pick up their It's a Beautiful Life kit, packed with travel-sized cleansing wipes, day and night face cream, an illuminator, and a lip tint so you can get a wide range of samples! Pacifica has wonderful body butters, too.

#5: Smith's

Smith's Rosebud Salve has been a favorite among the beauty world for a long time now, and it's clear why! Though the product is meant for the lips, it has countless other uses. It has multiple cosmetic functions but can also be used to treat blemishes, scrapes, burns, diaper rash, dry scalp, rashes, and dry cuticles. This reliable brand is cruelty-free as well as affordable, making it a great choice all around.

#6: Yes to Carrots

Yes to Carrots products can be easily found at your local Walmart, Target, or drugstore. The company has several lines including Yes to Tomatoes, Yes to Cucumbers, Yes to Blueberries, and more, all targeted for different skin types and needs. The products aren't tested on animals and contain around 97 percent natural ingredients, so they are really healthy for your skin. Try their classic Yes To Cucumbers Soothing Facial Wipes to give your skin a refreshing treat, or check out their Yes To Blueberries Rejuvenating Eye Cream!
